Jensen Interceptor MK2 6.3L V8
This client arranged for his Jensen Iinterceptor MK2 to be sent to me for a health check and tune of the fuelling and ignition.
The health check and tune started by rectifying a few electrical connections to the ignition system which had become that little bit tired. Of course we started with the most important of them oil, that being the battery to negative earth lead. Soon followed with simple improvements to carious connections to the ignition coil, and then the ignition coil and ballast resister themselves as they failed my primary and secondary resistance health tests. Followed by new NGK BP5S all gapped at 0.035".....hence we breathed some new life into the ignition spark!
On arrival the ignition timing was significantly out at idle and would not have allowed the engine to reach it's true healthy potential and hence was also reset and confirmed by multiple 'old school' methods.
Along the journey it was of course vital that the Edelbrock 1405 600cfm carburettor received just as much love and attention, and it did, in order to get the fuelling into an equally healthy position as per that of spark with which it's mixture would be ignited.
And now she was starting to sound a bit more like the potent 6.3 Litre (383ci) motor that we all know the Jensen to be. The below snippet of video was taken a few stages before final tuning, however love that V8 growl........
