Question - Can you come to my home to tune my car?
Answer - YES , is the very simple answer.
However, please keep in mind that my journey starts in KIRKBYMOORSIDE NORTH YORKSHIRE and I do need to charge for the travel time involved in going to your location. My travel charge rate per hour is given on the 'PRICING' page. In general it works out that during travel time once I've paid for fuel and 'wear and tear' on the vehicle I'm earning only half my normal charge rate compared to when I'm on site working on a car.

What if you're located...2, 3 or 4hrs away?
Travel Time & Consuming a Working Day - When enquirers are located at a significant distance from North Yorkshire, one of the most common things that I repeatedly find myself explaining is how 'travel time' to their location can effectively consume/command a full working day to be used for just the one booking.
For example imagine an enquiry to tune a 2.0 Pinto engine based in Liverpool, or a v8 Rover in Leicester,
The tuning of the Pinto engine on weber DCOE’s or Rover V8 on SU's should only take me 2.5 to 3hrs all being well!!
However, there’s is also a 6.5 to 7hr, 290 mile round trip involved.
Which means that either one of these jobs will effectively consume the entire working day, during which I would normally do 2 or 3 separate jobs in an area not much more than an hour from home.
Hence, I would need to apply a full day charge rate in order to make their enquiry worth considering as a booking. Otherwise why spend all that time and expense of travelling?
I'll bring the car to you!!
When using our workshop, we are very selective about the reason we choose to bring a car in to us.
No offence meant however, other than for existing multivehicle clients, it is rarely just to suit the convenience of the customer. Instead more a choice of our own based on the scope of work required and the required resource held at the workshop versus a mobile basis.
Whether working at our workshop or doing mobile tuning on the road, I try to put together a 'full' day of work, which more than likely involves 2 or 3 separate jobs (depending on complexity).
So whilst many are very quick to offer....'I'll bring it to you'....it does need to fit in with a day when I have other jobs planned at our private workshop in order to make a 'full' day.
Question - How much do you charge for the travel time? (See pricing page) for up to date pricing rates. Thank you
