Triumph Stag V8
The V8 Triumph Stag, with twin Stromberg CD175 carburretors
Together with the Rover V8 engine, the Trump Stag V8 is one of the more common V8 power plants seen in the UK during the 1970's. Those who have owned the Triumph Stag will recall the lovely V8 'gurgle and burble' when running well. The example pictured here is regularly used by it's owner and in good all round condition too. The Carburation was a little out of tune, requiring damper seals to be replaced together with a few other minor tweaks. Likewise the ignition also needed a tweak here and there also. Otherwise a lovely car and back to sounding just the way it should.
A lovely V8 engine, and a great example of the 'twin points' based ignition system or of course now often converted to electronic ignition. In which case care is needed with some system types due to the hot distributor positioning at the back of the engine block.
