1800 VW T2 Camper

The VW T2 Camper has been around for years, including many different engine configurations and capacities.   This variant had the 1800cc engine very similar to the Karman Ghia, and included twin ICT34 Weber carburrettors.   The owner had done his best to set up the engine, however it still wasn't running quite as it should be.

So.......I went went through the basics, checked and replaced the plugs, set the ignition timing, points dwell angle, re-set the ignition timing, baselined and balanced the carbs, balanced the carb transition rods and started to dial it all in together.  That's when the key issue started to become obvious, the left car was suffering from fuel starvation.....   The owner now knew exactly why his van wasn't running as it should and the next course of action needed to be taken.

The owner actually said to me afterwards....'I did have my suspicions about the carbs internally.   What you've just shown me there confirms my thoughts that the left carb has a fuel blockage/reservoir issue.....thank you!'.
